Urban beekeeping: EXSTO Group is committed to protecting our biodiversity

Vie de l'entreprise • 20 May 2024

Pollinating insects play a crucial role in global food production and biodiversity preservation. However, threats such as Asian hornets, pesticides, and climate change significantly increase their mortality rates.

Aware of their decline, we have taken action.

Preserving biodiversity with urban beekeeping

In the spring of 2023, new colleagues took up residence at our sites in Romans-sur-Isère and Cavaillon!

By welcoming these precious pollinators into our urban spaces, we are creating true havens of biodiversity. The beehives are not just simple habitats for the bees! They indeed promote the pollination of plants cultivated in urban areas and the preservation of local ecosystems.

By integrating beehives into our environmental approach, we are doing much more than symbolic gestures. We are becoming active participants in concrete change for biodiversity and sowing the seeds of a more responsible future for all.

Raising employee awareness of CSR issues

Involving our employees in our CSR initiatives also provides an opportunity to create connections and share enjoyable moments. Throughout the year, our teams have had the chance to attend inspection visits conducted by our partner beekeepers. It’s an opportunity to discover the fascinating workings of a hive and learn how to ensure the bees’ well-being.

By involving our teams in an interactive manner, we integrate them into our environmental approach and the preservation of nature.

Moreover, our precious recruits have been so productive that all Group employees have been able to taste the fruits of their labor! So, if it’s good for the planet and we can enjoy the nectar, why not indulge?
